If you’re in need of a cute pick-me-up today, this adorable engagement shoot is sure to do the trick. Photographer Valerie Denise captured this Mary Poppins-inspired engagement back in October and we had to get the details. Instead of kites, Martha and Tony flew high above the skies in a ferris wheel for their proposal moment.
“Balboa Island in Newport Beach has always been a special spot for Martha and Tony,” explained Valerie. “All throughout their relationship, they walked around Balboa where they shared long talks, first kisses, and future plans. Martha always begged Tony to ride the ferris wheel with her, but they never had the chance to.”
“Tony decided that he would propose on Halloween, where they would be able to hang out with friends, dress up, and ride the ferris wheel without suspicion,” said Valerie. “They decided to dress up as Mary Poppins and Bert to fit the retro style and vibe of Balboa and the carnival rides. We had the workers stop the ferris wheel at the top where he was able to propose at sunset with the ocean and the harbor peaking from behind. She shouted a huge ‘FINALLY!’ after being together for three years.” Seriously, how cute is that? We do love a happy ending.
