Trendy Disney and Disney Pixar Baby Names for 2016

Every year,  digital magazines and publishers put out a new list of top baby names for the upcoming year. The Internet is flooded with lists of top trendy names for soon-to-be mothers to consider and for girls like us to peruse (just for kicks). After doing the research, we noticed that some of the most popular names on these lists stemmed from recent popular films, tv shows, and public figures. So we dove into the recent character catalogue and found names we love from personalities we’ve grown to adore:

Here’s our list of the trendiest Disney and Disney•Pixar baby names for 2016:

Rey

Needless to say, Rey’s strong female personality makes her one of our favorite characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Because of the film’s roaring response, we’re fairly certain Rey will be a popular name for this new generation.

Arlo

The name Arlo comes from the latin origin meaning strong and manly, so it’s no wonder the name was given to our friend, Arlo from The Good Dinosaur. When Arlo is faced with the toughest of situations, he learns to find his inner strength, leadership, and courage in a way that makes his family proud.

Riley

We got to go deep into Riley’s roller coaster of emotions in Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out, and learned what a truly well-rounded and totally awesome girl she is. Who wouldn’t want a daughter like Riley?

Hank

While we don’t know much about Finding Dory‘s newest “septopus” Hank, what we do know, we love. We’re certain fans will love his character, and soon “Hank” will make its way to baby name lists, too.

Kylo Ren

The Force is strong with this one. Kylo Ren might be on the Dark Side, but his name is universally appealing.

Judy

Judy Hopps stole hearts as the optimistic bunny officer in Zootopia. She exemplifies what it means to care for others, and makes it her mission to make the world a better place. She’s a great role model for young girls everywhere, and we’re sure “Judy” will be a name adopted by many.

Alice

Alice’s sweet demeanor puts her name on our list. She exudes confidence, charisma, and curiosity, and with the rejuvenation of Alice’s character from the 1951 classic, we’re betting it will be a popular name this year.

The March Hare from Alice in Wonderland

Bailey

Bailey is a snub-nose beluga whale in the upcoming film Finding Dory. Bailey believes his sonar doesn’t work and quickly became one of our favorite characters. We’re sure mothers and fans will love him, too!
