Do you remember when Mulan first came to theaters? How you teared up when she sang her ballad about her reflection showing who she was inside, how much you instantly loved the training montage, not to mention general feeling of girl power Mulan made you feel.
It’s hard to believe that all happened on this day back in the summer on 1998! Since then, Mulan has remained dear to us as one of the most fearless and proud female Disney characters, who never-the-less has trouble discovering exactly who she is.
As we so often do on a film’s anniversary, we created a Mulan-inspired outfit for the occasion. We modeled it after her Ping outfit a bit more to show off her tomboy side. As a nod to her pretty pink “matchmaker” dress, we added a pink scarf–just a touch of girliness in an otherwise practical outfit.
