If you love Disney fashion as much as we do, you’re going to look for Disney pieces in every city, state, and country you ever visit. It’s only natural. So when I visited Tokyo, a city flourishing with Disney fans of all ages, I knew the hunt wouldn’t be very hard. Tokyo shopping is some of the best in the world, and I quickly learned exactly how true that is for Disney shopping there, too.
In Japan, Disney is a love shared by so many. I only needed to take a few steps before recognizing Mickey’s face on a stranger’s t-shirt, and a few more steps before finding a vintage shop with a Winnie the Pooh jacket in the window. So how do you do your best Disney shopping in the city? I stuck to the basics: department, retail, and vintage.
1. Department Stores
Think about your average department store in the States. You can almost always find Disney in a department store like Kohl’s, Macy’s, JCPenney, or Nordstrom, right? So in theory, the same rule would apply in Tokyo. I visited a department store in Harajuku, and, as suspected, came across a number of brands participating in a Disney•Pixar collaboration that was too cute not to shop!
2. Vintage Shops
With technology these days, it’s easy to find vintage stores near you in Tokyo. Of the eight or so vintage shops I visited, all of them carried Disney pieces. In fact, many vintage stores even keep their Disney pieces together on the racks and shelves, so you can pop in and out in minutes!
3. Retail Shops
Retail shops of all kinds carry Disney licensed products in Tokyo. Everything from pharmacies and convenient stores, to specialty stores and retail chains. You can find the most kawaii beauty products inspired by Disney characters at value stores, so be sure to explore!
There’s so much Disney to explore in Tokyo. From the merchandise at Tokyo Disneyland Resort to the streets of Shibuya, Disney Style is everywhere.
