2016 brought in a slew of amazing Disney collaborations, products, and trends we couldn’t wait to wear. Before we get excited about all of the awesome things to come in 2017, we thought we’d take a quick look back at the things us Disney Style editors (and likely you, too) simply had to have this year:
1. Enamel Pins
2016 was quite obviously the year of the enamel pin. Adding flare to your denim jacket or collared shirt became a staple this year. And thankfully, there’s a vast catalogue of Disney enamel pins to choose from!
2. The Disney x Coach Mickey Kisslock Bag
How could anyone resist this adorable Mickey leather Coach bag? It’s a piece we will forever treasure.
3. A Polka Dot Dress
As a Minnie fan, you can never have too many polka dots in your closet. We loved this polka dot shirtdress from Zara paired with over-the-knee boots for an outfit that’s perfect for a Minnie-inspired night out with girlfriends.
4. Harveys Seatbelt Bags
If you don’t have one yet, it might be time. Harveys makes durable easy-to-clean seatbelt bags featuring some of our most beloved Disney characters. We got a few last year and can’t wait to see what new collections are in store for 2017!
5. The Lazy Oaf Mickey Dress
We raced to the Lazy Oaf website the day the Mickey Mouse collection was released just to get this dress. With a pair of ears, it’s everything you need to DisneyBound for the Parks.
6. An Orange Turtleneck
Believe it or not, it is very difficult to put together a Goofy-inspired outfit. Why? Because orange turtlenecks don’t come around all that often. We snagged one from J.Crew this year to finally complete a Goofy DisneyBound.
7. A Force 4 Fashion Star Wars Tee
Force 4 Fashion, the fashion-meets-fundraising initiative, asked celebrities to design their own Rogue One: A Star Wars Story shirts. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the designs. This t-shirt was designed by Olivia Munn.
8. Danielle Nicole Bags
We know you can agree that one of the best collaborations to come out of 2016 for Disney fans was the Danielle Nicole x Disney collection. The bags are a Disney Style editor’s dream, so we began collecting them immediately.
9. A Classic Mickey Tee
Every few years, we like to add to our collection of classic Mickey tees. This year, we opted for a simple grey t-shirt featuring our favorite pal, which can be paired into your look in a number of ways.
10. Jamberry Nail Art
We’re obsessed with Jamberry’s awesome nail prints and patterns. It’s a simple and miniature way to show off your Disney style fandom.
11. Disney TAG Travel Bags
No matter if you’re going on a day long adventure or an extended weekend trip, Disney TAG bags are easy travel necessities. We jumped on this chic travel collection online, but you can also visit the Disney TAG store at Disney Springs!
12. The Disney x Cath Kidston Collection
Since the brand’s Winnie the Pooh collection sold out almost immediately, we knew we had to act fast on their range featuring Mickey and Minnie!
13. Dad hats
Dad hats (you know, a simple soft baseball cap), became increasingly popular this year so we swooped up a few ourselves, including this adorable Moana one.
14. The Vans x Disney•Pixar Toy Story Collection
We couldn’t resist our excitement for this collection, which features our favorite Toy Story characters and even comes with Andy’s name written on the bottom of some of the shoes.
15. A Tie-Dye Mickey Mouse Shirt from Disney Store
The ’70s had quite the revival this year, with kick flare jeans, wide-brimmed hats, and platform sandals everywhere we looked. It felt like the perfect time to snag this tie-dye tee, (which is available for almost every Disney Park) to pair with light wash denim for a vintage-inspired Disney style.
