There is so much to love about The Little Mermaid‘s leading villain. With her dry sense of humor and larger-than-life personality, Ursula brims with confidence and exuberance. Though covetous and conniving, she’s a hero of self-love, and her bold take on life translates into a fittingly daring fashion sense. For this edition of “Anatomy of a Disney Character’s Style,” we’ve taken a closer look at everything that makes Ursula, Ursula.
Ursula has one of those looks that sounds outlandish on paper, yet manages to look amazing in practice. A “business in the front, party in the back” hairstyle, teal eyeshadow, and a sweetheart top bodice combine to give her a look straight out of the ’80s, while her red nails and matching lips push the glamour to the next level.
With her fabulous drop earrings, made from small purple shells, there’s no mistaking Ursula’s ocean home. The nautilus shell on her choker has to be our favorite part of her outfit, though we’d likely prefer it without Ariel’s stolen voice.
