One of the best things about a good DisneyBound is when the outfit is so cute you don’t even notice it’s based on a character right away, but when you realize it’s a DisneyBound, you can’t get over the subtle details. That’s exactly what happened to me when Leslie Kay stopped by to talk DisneyBounding with the Disney Style team. I thought she just had an adorable white-on-white outfit with a red scarf. Then it hit me–she was bounding as Dodger from Oliver and Company, sunglasses and all.
This is why we had to have Leslie impart all of her DisneyBound wisdom to us in the form of a video. Luckily for us, she also brought a group of her bounding buds to show off their outfits as well.
Leslie Kay’s three essential DisneyBounding tips:
- Color Palette: The best way to really assert what character you’re bounding as is by rocking their signature colors, no matter what style you’re wearing.
- Accessories: Since this isn’t a costume where you can make it totally clear that you’re, say, dressed as Rapunzel, little hints from her story line are the perfect way to take your outfit to the next level. This is also one of the most fun parts of putting together a DisneyBound look–the hunt to find those frying pan earrings or a chameleon ring.
- Incorporate Your Own Style: Again, since you’re not wearing a costume and your look is inspired by the character, not a total copy, DisneyBounding still allows you to show off your own personal style.
