We’re obviously extremely excited for the upcoming release of Alice Through the Looking Glass. Combine that with the fact that spring is in the air, and we’re all about tea parties, daisies, and golden afternoons as of late.
The only logical thing to do about the general aura of Alice and Wonderland all around us was to create a dreamy, kooky, pretty Alice in Wonderland-themed photo shoot based on some of our favorite and most nonsensical Alice moments.
To translate the whimsical vibes of Wonderland into photos, photographer Anna-Alexia Basile embraced all the impassible qualities of Wonderland. “The illogical and psychedelic nature of the movie—it gives you so much room to be creative.”
Basile ultimately wanted the audience to feel like Alice, and wonder out loud what’s really going on? “When I first watched Alice in Wonderland as a kid, I remember feeling very connected to her character because I was just as confused as she was, as she sort of fell through all these different worlds. I wanted to channel that confusion and sense of disorientation by playing with shooting through crystals and different translucent objects to create multi-image and multi-layer photos.”
Enjoy this fresh take on Alice, and remember to always shake hands. That’s manners.
“In a world of my own.”
“Do you play croquet?”
“Late for a very important date.”
“Well, after this I should think nothing of falling down stairs.”
“Would you like more tea?”
