Paris Fashion Week happened in early July, and designers showed off their Haute Couture collections for Fall/Winter. Couture is a unique category in the fashion world, because it allows designers to be imaginative and whimsical with their designs.
While we were looking over the runway photos, we couldn’t help but notice that quite a few dresses would be oh so fitting for some of our favorite Disney characters. So, we decide to play imaginary dress up for a moment, and pick out the couture gowns we think these character would wear:
Giorgio Aramni, Ursula from The Little Mermaid
With a dark, neon vibe, this Armani dress is Ursula personafied, especially because of the tentacle-like sparkles in the skirt.
Ulyana Sergeenko, Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Since legs are required for jumping, dancing (and modeling), we think Ariel would stroll along the streets in this green jumpsuit.
Atelier Versace, Rapunzel from Tangled
If you asked us who are style icons are, Rapunzel and Karlie Kloss would definitely make the list. And with this flowly purple-pink Versace dress, we couldn’t help but see a little bit of Rapunzel’s style in Karlie’s gown.
Julien Fournie, Mother Gothel from Tangled
If there was a modern component to Mother Gothel’s vibrant marsala dress, it would be this one from Julien Fournie.
Eva Minge, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians
We think Cruella should skip the fur and go straight for this color blocked black and white dress from Eva Minge.
Atelier Versace, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog
The flowy sleeves and the leaf-like details of this Versace outfit says “Tiana” to us.
Dice Kayek, Cinderella from Cinderella
Just look at those sleeves! Only Cinderella could rock a structured sleeve like that.
Giambattista Valli, Belle from Beauty and the Beast
From the cape detailing and yellow hue, Belle would surely be a beauty in this Giambattista Valli dress.
