How did October fly by so fast? With Halloween (and kids) practically knocking on your door, you might be feeling a little spooked, and not because your dad told you he is dressing up like Captain Jack Sparrow again… but because you are totally out of costume ideas. Well, stop scrolling through Pinterest and take a break from drooling over past #HalloweenCostumes on Instagram because we have the best last minute throw-together-from-your-closet costume ideas ever. So, now you have no excuse to not dress up!
Costume No. 1: Winnie the Pooh
Grab a red shirt, yellow or gold shorts, and neutral or brown flats from your closet. Search online for a print out of Pooh’s face like we did and pin it to your shirt. As for his ears, just in case you don’t already have a bear-headband like us (hey you never know when it will come in handy), grab a gold or brown headband and cut out two brown circles. Attach the two circles to the headband. Viola! Beary cute.
Costume No. 2: 101 Dalmatians Dog
To get this look, pick out white shorts and a black and white polka dot shirt. Or choose a plain white t-shirt and cut out small black circles (paper or felt). Using a hot glue gun, glue them to the shirt. Your shoes need to comfortable enough to run around in so flat black sandals will work the best. Complete the look with a black headband (attaching black floppy ears is optional) and a tight choker necklace, or simply tie a ribbon around your neck for a collar.
Costume No. 3: The Three Good Fairies
This is a great costume idea if you and your friends want to dress up together. First decide if you want to be Flora, Fauna, or Merryweather. Then choose either a red, green, or blue dress. Accessorize with red glitzy shoes and a wand for Flora, a green chunky bracelet and statement ring for Fauna, or blue suede flats and sparkling blue earrings for Merryweather. These adorable cone hats were found at the nearest party store, but if you have no time to get them – print out a red/green/blue piece of paper and roll it into a cone! You get extra points for any glitter you may have on hand.
