Fall Dapper Day is just around the corner and we can’t wait to step out in our fashionable vintage attire at the Disney Parks. Last spring, we had a marvelous time at Disneyland, and loved seeing everyone’s dapper outfits. To get you inspired for this fashionable day, we had the Disney Style staff put together some Disney-inspired Dapper Day ensembles. We let each person choose their favorite character and had them share with us the story behind their dream vintage attire.
Rachel, Mary Poppins
Is there a character more practically perfect to emulate on Dapper Day than Mary Poppins? Not in this writer’s opinion. Mary is prim and proper, so I kept the clothes simple and chose accessories that highlighted small details (like her red bowtie and carpet bag). I couldn’t resist the umbrella and penguin scarf to add a touch of whimsy.
Like everyone else in the world, I am obsessed with Elsa from Frozen. Her ice dress is the stuff Disney dreams are made of. It’s beautiful, it’s sparkly, and it has a cape. Edna E. Mode might not approve, but I love it. For Dapper Day though, a long sleeved gown doesn’t quite make sense for a day at the Parks. I thought the illusion neckline on this icy blue dress was reminiscent of Elsa’s. All white accessories like a fascinator and t-strap heels add some 1950’s flair. The purse is definitely the piece I adore the most, because the crystals remind me of Elsa’s ice palace.
