Earlier this week, we shared our Sally nail art on Instagram for the #FallintoDisneyStyle October photo challenge. It’s always so much fun for me to reimagine Sally as a manicure, because she has so many intricate details that look wonderful as nail art! Plus, Halloween is almost here, which makes it the perfect time to break out all things Nightmare Before Christmas.
Check out the four simple steps below to create your own Sally nail art:
Start off with an opaque light blue base coat on all five fingers, reminiscent of Sally’s pale blue skin.
Grab three bold colors to match Sally’s patchwork dress—magenta, teal, and yellow. On your pointer, middle, and pinky fingers, paint abstract shapes that mirror the look of the individual patches on her dress. I created a jagged line with the yellow to give it a torn look.
Using black nail polish, a striping brush, and a dotting tool, add the patch details to your colored sections. This step is much easier if you keep a photo of Sally nearby! Play around with these details, because they don’t have to be perfect. Mix up the size and direction of the stripes and polka dots to match the Tim Burton-vibe from the film.
Add thin stitching details to your accent nails to finish up the manicure, and follow it with a clear topcoat!
